Today I made a DLO about solving this problem.The problem seemed a bit hard but it turned out to be easy.

Today for the morning session we had a visitor come into our classroom and she did some observation. For that observation we decided to do some collaborative mystery solving. My group and I found this very easy, because we had experience on doing this kind of task and it was kind of similiar so that helped us a lot.  In this task we had to read a passage and find the suspects of the story so we had to agree if it was that person or we would disagree if it was a different person. Also we had to find the clues to find the guilty person in the story. Our group did collaborate together because we shared each others ideas and talked to each other about it.

Today I made a DLO about subtracting decimals.

Tote Bag - Reflection

Every Monday for the past month we have been learning on how to thread the machine and how to make a tote bag. First we had to put the string in the machine then we had to measure the fabric which was 10cm width and 12cm length so then we had to cut it straight or the fabric of the bag would be cricked. After that we sewed the tote bag together and turn it inside out then we measured the handle which was 20 cm long so then we sewed it together and left one side opened to put the scissors or stick to put through it to turn it inside out. At the end we sewed the handle with the tote bag and it was all finished.

Cyber Safety

Today I created a infographic about being safe on social media.

70% of teens do not follow Cybersmart rules ( Being safe online).What I have learnt today is to be safe online and to never talk to unknown people.

DLO solving Division problems using five times tables

I have created a DLO about solving division problems using five times tables. I had to solve 72 and 4.It was very easy to work out all I had to do was divide 40 and 4 = 10 and 32  and 4 = 8.Next I add 10 and 8 = 18. Theres my answer.

Granny Prix

In class I played a game called Granny Prix.I learnt a lot of multiplication like 9x8 and 12x7.It was easy but then as you go through the game the question get harder.The best part was that you can dress your granny.I also came first in the game.Here is the link to the game.

In Class Vina and I had to solve 38x72.We struggled through the work but we made it .We finished it in time and hoped our teacher liked our work.It was hard at first but we found it easy to do multiplication algorithm.

Authors Purpose Game

In class I did a interesting Author's purpose game.The best part was that I learnt a lot about Author's purpose. Once you have done all the questions you get to slingshot your  teacher, get it wrong you have to start all over again. It was hard at first then it got easier through the game. 

DLO: Adding numbers containing decimals

In class Eden and I created a DLO about adding numbers containing numbers .We struggled writing out the maths promblem, but then we wrote it out onto a whiteboard a we figured out the promblem.

How things work

In class we had a hard challenge.We had to write down things that could lift up box like cranes, car jacks and stuff. It was very hard for us.But we learnt how to use thing if we were in trouble.

In class I did a blog post about solving times tables in different ways.It was easy to because we did a faster way hoe to do like this one.

Prototec

Today in class I did prototec on stage 6 and I got 52%.When I saw the questions I thought it was going to be hard but then I figured out then questions . Next time I'm going to try harder to get to 100% and get on to stage 7. 

Quia Author's Purpose ( Battleship game )

Today in class I did a game ( battleship), it's about where you have to plant your position in the blue box and it will check if you have missed or you have sunken  your enemy's ship.It was hard for me because I wasn't even hitting my enemies ship.I lost two times which is boring.Here is a link to the game.HOPE YOU ENJOY

Inference Game

In class I did a game about making inferences. It's a game where you have to pick a new sentence once the man has finished reading the story. Once you pick your sentence the man  will check your answer and see  if it's  wrong or right. If you get it right you get a star and it will  keep filling up to the end.If you get it wrong you will lose half a star or lose  the whole star. Median,Mode,Mean,and Range

Today for maths Mrs Donaldson did a Kahoot game about Median,Mean,Mode,and Range for group two.

At first I thought it was going to be hard but just as I saw the question I knew that it was going to be easy. I was changing between coming first and second. At the end I came second because Malae beat me.I really enjoyed the game.

EXPLANATIONS

In this quiz I had to answer some questions. We had 29 seconds to answer that has been given to us. I had answered 4 questions that has been given to me. I had come 2 in this quiz. I got 2,251 points. When I started it was really tricky for me but then it got easier.  Here is a LINK to my class site.

The Science Roadshow

Today on the 25th of May 2017 Rm6, Rm7 and Rm8 from Glen Innes School had a fantastic time at the Science Roadshow which took place at Baradene College.It was fun way to learn about science at Baradene College.  It was fun to see awesome things in the hall .They showed us thing that we could make and play with like how to make elephant toothpaste and how Physical changes never changes  but Chemical can.They then told us that there were different types of science that we could try behind some students . The students were telling us what we could do and find out how to do it . There was one were you hold a heat teller and it tells you what the degrees are in the three little houses . There was one were you have to rub your hands together and put your hands under a bowl and the water in it will and it will splash.This one was cool because you have to pull up and drop a bowling ball and a pingpong ball will go flying out and fall through a pipe . It was fun at the Baradene College . We all hope we could go back 

Cybersmart Personal Profile

Today Rm6 was learning about Personal Profile it's about what you do online . For example if you put all of your details online like where you live, bank account, home address, phone number and your family details and thats not cool. This is what I wrote about my self  :

My name is Mahaleah and I’m from New Zealand . I have a dog named Zion and he is a charpain. He likes to play with his bowling ball a lot and  likes to fight over with his toys and also play with his imaginary friends  .My sport that I play is Rugby , Soccer and Basketball.  My favorite sports team is All Blacks .My favorite band are  House of shem .Third my favorite food are  Wendy's,  Burger King and KFC  .My subjects at school are writing and reading . For my goals I must be on task and listen to the teacher more often .

This is all you need to write about you can use your first name just not your last name because you don't want a creepy man stalking you. Remember that you have to be at a older age  to have Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And don't use all of your details thats kind dumb. Think before you do. 

Making Kesh at Tech

Today at  Tech we  made divine Kesh .It was simple, it was easy to make and it was fun to and this is how we made it, we used onions and most of the kids were crying then we got the bacon,eggs,cheese,flour,butter,milk and spraying oil. Just as we had done it was we ate our  delicious  Kesh . THANK YOU MRS HEKA

fruit flan

Today we made fruit flan.It was easy and simple.the first step was to get the ingredients,then we put the dry  ingredients into the little bowl then we put the the milk in the pot and then we added the the dry ingredients to the milk and the we had to stir it fast so that it wont get stuck to the bottom of the pot. after that we put the custard into the base and then we had to wait until the custard  had cooled down so that if we put the fruit on the to well it was still hot then the custard wouldn't of cooked  the fruit.Then we put the fruit on when it was a little bit cold and then we were finished.It was fun and easy to make.

Today we wrote a structure about someone special in my life and chose my Mum

My Mum is loving,caring she supports me and she is always there when I need her.

My mum  loves me because I’m there for her. I’m the main one that she loves. She treats me right and  she loves me because I’m her only daughter. She takes care of when I’m hurt like people being a bully or talking about me. No Daughter and Mother never  live apart, no matter  the distance between them. My mother is super amazing and I’m the lucky one because I get to see my mother a lot. I am proud of many things that I’ve  done in life but no one can beat my mother. I love my mum even though if  she can be annoying. I cherish all those things that my mother as done for me.I love my mum because she has been there for me when I was born. She supports me. She makes me win because of her support . She’ll be there whenever I need her and whenever I need help. She’s there for me no matter what. She makes me believe in myself in who I am. My mum is the most beautiful thing that I keep inside my heart. The love between a mother and a daughter is forever.

My Mum is important to me because she is always there for me no matter what. Without her , I won’t be the same without her because a mother and daughter never live apart .

How I went on English Maven

 This is a picture on English Maven so what you have to do is that there is a question and you have to answer it so the question  is Occupation and there was a question to answer A. is Job , B. is Man , C. is See and D. is Do so which one is it?.When I saw these questions I never knew which one was it so I went for A. Job and I got the answer right.

Making Chicken Goujons

Today at Tech Ferri , Sita and I made Delicious  Chicken Goujons.
It was very difficult because there was three of us in the kitchen.It was funny because Ferri burnt some of her chicken but then I gave her some of my chicken.Thanks Miss Heka for teaching us how to cook.

Omaru River

1. The colour of the water was green and brownish it was very unhealthy  and wasn’t very clear  .Room 11 and Room 6 weren’t very impressed with the colour of the water and what people have been doing to our streams.Because of the colour we know that’s it polluted.

2.  At Omaru there was water boatman, worms, even an eel, and a dragonfly. Did you know when these   insects are around streams that means it’s a sign that the stream is polluted and not healthy.It was a sign that is was polluted because there was no sensitive insectes around the stream.

3. There was rubbish in the stream not much though. There was even clothes in the stream as well. It was sad to see rubbish, clothes and algae in the stream. Some of the students were very disappointed of what they saw. Having rubbish, clothes in the stream affects fish and insects because it kills them.

4. There was a lot of algae in the stream. When we first walked down to the stream we could see a lot of algae. It’s good to have algae but not to much because it kills fish and insects . We could smell the stream as well. It would be a dream come true to have New Zealand streams to be healthy again and fresh.

Last Lesson with Coaches

Today was our last day with the swimming coaches even though it was there last day with us we still had an amazing time  .  We had a lot of fun with the coaches ,we also played fun games in the pool.The taught us how to do backstroke,breaststroke and freestyle. 

I enjoy doing freestyle and breaststroke in my own time because I like to swim alone .
